pastel, canvases or canvas paper, acrylic paint, paint palettes, paint brushes, rulers.
Description: This beginner/intermediate class covers fundamental fine art skills. Students will
learn to draw and paint still-life, portraits, landscapes, and subjects of their own choosing. This
course will dive into both realistic and abstract art in a variety of styles, referencing great artists
and movements such as surrealism, cubism, pop art, impressionism, and more. Students will
begin by practicing basic techniques, sketching, and observation skills regardless of previous
experience. The instructor will then work with each student to choose a project that is both
challenging and inspiring for their level of ability. No previous experience is expected.
