Learn how to paint using this fast drying paint.

During this course, you will learn how to manipulate acrylics while also learning art basics such as value, colour mixing, and composition.

Matthew will guide you from the beginnings of getting to know your mixes, brush stroke techniques, and much more.

No class on Feb 16. No classes during March Break (March 16-20)

Students will need to bring their own materials:

Pencils, HB, 2B, 4B

Sketchpad spiral bound preferably, size 9/12”

Colour wheel

Acrylic paint sketchbook (mixed media will also work) 9/12”

Palette paper

Selection of acrylic paint brushes

Canvas/canvas board 9/12

Paint - Brand is important, The best are Liquitex, Golden or Windsor and Newton

Meet Our Instructors:

Matt Dampier

Matt Dampier is a Hamilton-based artist working primarily in painting and sculpture. With an extensive background in teaching, he has exhibited widely in galleries and shows across the GTA. He is currenly the artist-in-residence at the Cotton Factory, where he continues to develop and share his practice.

In the event a class is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather or other unforeseen situations, refunds will not be issued. However, the class will be rescheduled to ensure you don’t miss out on the experience. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!

Credit Policy

Term Classes and Camps: Refunds or credits are not available for missed classes or camps. However, if you notify us at least 2 weeks in advance, we will issue a credit for future use.
